About

The Coalition for Efficient & Responsible Trucking formed in 2014 to advance sensible, safe, and environmentally sound changes in the market for less than truckload (LTL) freight. The LTL market serves more than 9.4 million daily customers in every state in the nation, from big name retailers and manufacturers to family owned businesses and local groceries. If a product is shipped as freight in America, it is likely that that the LTL carriers were involved. With a thoroughly professionalized workforce, trained drivers and logisticians, and technologically advanced fleets that incorporate modern safety features today’s LTL shippers are better than ever.

We believe it is time to introduce a new era of efficiency to the market through a five foot extension on twin trailers. The new 33 foot trailers have been tested under every driving condition in limited markets. They would result in fewer trucks on the road and provide immediate benefits to the challenges of congestion. It is time to bring the environmental, safety and productivity gains they offer to the entire nation.

Who We Are

The Coalition for Efficient and Responsible Trucking is a non-profit coalition focused on awareness and education for policymakers, media, and members of the industry and its stakeholders about the benefits of a change in federal policies restricting the length of twin trailers in the less than truckload freight industry.
